China calling is one of the best Chinese restaurants near southern avenue.
It is located near Vivekananda park and has a very small but beautiful entrance. We had already booked a table for two. The decor was good. We were given a huge table which was sufficient for two. We had gone around 2pm and we were the only customers at that time. We enjoyed the peaceful atmosphere.
Now there was a great innovation in their style of taking the order. We were given a tab where pics of each dish was given which helped a lot in placing our order.
Among soups we had chicken mushroom soup and chicken hot and sour soup. The hot and sour soup was very tasty and had many chicken pieces and veggies. Highly recommend! The chicken mushroom soup was flavourful. The ones who do not prefer spicy soups, this one is for them.
In starters we had Mongolian chicken. It was very spicy and tasty. Six chicken slices deep fried with a crispy texture. A must have !!
For our mains we had chicken fried rice and kung pao chicken. Both were excellent. The fried rice was one of the best Chinese fried rices I ever had and the kung pao chicken was too good. If you visit this place then the kung pao chicken is a must have. It had 10 soft chicken pieces in a mild spicy gravy with veggies and cashew.
To end our excellent lunch, we had vanilla ice cream with chocolate sauce as dessert. It was decent.
I would say that if you love Chinese then this place should not be missed! Don’t be misguided by the negative reviews here. I’m eagerly waiting for my next visit !! 😀
